I grew up in sunny Florida, spending my days with my family and learning to sail with my dad. Throughout high school and college, I pursued various professions in the sailing industry. Alongside coaching, I developed hands-on skills in rigging and custom sail design. Igniting a lifelong passion for fluid dynamics concerning hull and sail design. I also competed internationally in sailing events, with a career highlight being a third-place finish as crew in the Snipe World Championship in Oporto, Portugal.
I majored in Computer Science at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, and minored in sociology. After completing college, I embarked on a career in technology, specializing as a Ruby on Rails full-stack web developer, with a special interest in applications relating to pedology. Over the years, I've held several positions in this field and within this special interest. Since 2016, I have been working remotely for Adafruit, where I develop educational content management tools focusing on accessibility, usability, and sustainability. Alongside my professional work, I have actively mentored women entering the tech industry. This commitment to mentorship was inspired by a leader in the Rails community who once helped me, a recent graduate, to excel in technical interviews. In addition to my work at Adafruit, I collaborate with women-owned startups to help turn early-stage ideas into functional, web-based MVPs—bridging vision with practical, scalable solutions.
After college, I moved to Boulder, Colorado, where I became passionate about snowboarding, hiking, biking, and traveling. After 13 years in Colorado, I returned to Bonita Springs, Florida, where I maintain my passion for doing all things outdoors.
